A sub-discipline of anthropology(US) archeology(EU), osteology is a detailed study of the structure of bones, skeletal elements, teeth, morphology, function,disease, pathology, the process of ossification (from cartilaginous molds), the resistance and hardness of bones (biophisics), etc.
